Spaghetti Aglio e Olio Recipe
A simple and classic Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and a touch of heat. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal!
Servings: 2
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 200g spaghetti
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Parmesan cheese (optional), grated
Instructions
-
Cook the Spaghetti
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente according to the package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
-
Prepare the Garlic and Oil
- While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the garlic slices and sauté gently, stirring frequently, until golden and fragrant (about 2–3 minutes). Be careful not to burn the garlic.
-
Add Spice
- Stir in the red chili flakes and cook for another 30 seconds to release their flavor.
-
Combine with Pasta
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat it in the garlic oil. If the pasta seems dry, gradually stir in some of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
-
Season and Garnish
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Toss in the chopped parsley and mix well.
-
Serve
- Plate the spaghetti and, if desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
Enjoy your Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, a dish that proves simplicity is the ultimate sophistication! 🍝
